Braeyden Jae's Fog Mirror builds layers of warm, crackling static into a complex emotional arc. It's a diary of a journey. Drone music that tells a story.

Amazing movie soundtracks for everyday life. Before Desolation Wilderness became a K Records band, Nicolaas Zwart (Electric Sunset, Drone Ranger) made some of the most mind-alteringly beautiful compositions I’ve ever heard. This album has always been my favorite, due to how it posed that beauty against harsher elements.

Desolation Wilderness- Hedron Oscillator

Like a chamber-pop band led by a synth player and inspired by Nico Muhly's Mothertongue and John Cale's Artificial Intelligence, Land & Buildings' Huron River Eclipse is an album "similar in tone to lonely morning rain or the stillness of a roadside motel on the long drive through the desert to nowhere."

A split between Montreal-based composer Kyle Bobby Dunn and Indianapolis-based guitarist Wayne Robert Thomas. One side of swirling modern classical drone, a drunk orchestra, distant trumpets like migrating birds. And one side of cinematic builds, layers of strings, crests and breaks.

Midwife is the stunning collaborative project of Sister Grotto’s Madeline Johnston and Antiquated Future's own Tucker Theodore. Both haunted and celebratory, Like Author, Like Daughter is an album beyond compare. A piece of shoegaze-inflected minimalism that confronts loss, wading deep into the void, and makes it to the other side transformed.

This new reissue comes with expanded liner notes and download code...[ continued ] Midwife- Way Out

The latest from Tucker Theodore is an album of ten instrumentals in two movements that pushes his singular psych-folk sound into a near post-rock expansiveness. Like all his records, it's wild and unruly and impossible to put in any box. Brilliant. Transcendent.

Released on Antiquated Future Records. Listen on Bandcamp...[ continued ] Tucker Theodore- Movement 9 (High Descend)

Hazy, ambient dream-pop from the Ukraine. Really, it's just such a pleasure. An album to get lost in.

The second release on the decidedly excellent This & That Tapes label. Listen on Bandcamp.

The latest from Portland's Indira Valey. No Me Tengas Miedo is an EP of textural surprises and casual wizardry. Four soundscape pieces that exist in the realm of artists like Julianna Barwick, Juana Molina, and Grouper.
