Weeping Willow is a true gem, a welcoming personal zine about growing up with horror movies and books, accessing deep emotions by way of horror, and finding affirmation of transgender identity within horror. Whether or not you like the genre, this is a sweet read where the author's love is totally infectious.
The best part: the zine is dedicated to Charlie's late grandfather, who was a horror fan, a Baptist preacher, and a ventriloquist (among other things). His wild ventriloquy puppets get a nice color center spread.
32 pages, half-letter size. Beautiful cut-out cover, largely B&W interior with some color pages. Winner of the Washington State Zine Contest.
