These recordings were crafted in hushed excitement on the isle of Alameda. We each dreamed of a project like this for years, and in the summer of 2010, our teenage book-nerd selves were finally able to make manifest this work of fandom. For two months, we lived together & labored in love to record music that might evoke the landscape of our beloved Earthsea.

Ursula K LeGuin has written many books we love dearly, and we have the deepest respect for the feminist, anti-authoritarian and anti-racist vision she bravely brings to the worlds and characters she creates. We chose to work with Earthsea because it is the world that first shook us-- the myths that lodged the deepest in our psyches.

Our lyrics were pulled from Ursula's text, as close to her words as possible. The recording was done on a 4-track Tascam with an SM 57 microphone. - Library Voice
